Great Yarmouth, UK

Great Yarmouth is a beachy town located on the east coast of the UK adjacent to the North Sea. This is what I'd imagine Coney Island to be. I went to Great Yarmouth with a good friend and neighbor. (My husband was out of town.) There was a tourist attraction vibe to it. They had tons of games--arcades that had the claw games, the small gambling games where you try to win more money, putt-putt courses, amusement park rides, and my all time favorite--cotton candy. Here they call it 'cotton floss.'

Being able to see the beach was something that I really missed. Growing up in Florida where seeing the water on a near everyday basis it was something that I took for granted. It was a sunny warm day near the water and it was a new adventure for me.

I cannot finish this article without saying that this is one of the tackiest places I've been. This from a girl who grew up in "L.A." (which has nothing to do with Los Angeles), also known as the "Redneck Rivera." I saw unusual signs of things that I wouldn't think go together but maybe I'm wrong...You tell me.
